The National Oil Corporation (NOC) has said it is proceeding with arrangements to resume export operations from safe ports, confirming tankers will arrive consecutively from tomorrow, Wednesday, to ship the available stock of crude oil.

The NOC expects the total production next week to reach 260 thousand barrels per day, with the continued shipment of crude from the remaining ports which are not occupied by armed groups, according to the NOC statement on Facebook.

The company confirmed that the national engineers and employees have started to return gradually to their positions to resume production operations. “As a first step work will resume from the ports of Brega and Harika, to be followed by other ports as determined by the security and safety reports” the NOC explained.

Meanwhile, the NOC’s administration met during the past few days with the Presidential Council to discuss arrangements for ensuring the regularity of oil revenues.

In this context, the NOC chair, Mustafa Sanallah has also discussed with the Attorney General’s office the conditions surrounding the ports and oil fields, and the challenges facing the oil sector at the local level.
