The annual meeting of Waha Oil Company for the year 2019 was held at NOC headquarters in Tripoli, headed by NOC Chairman .
The company’s activities and its various departments during the year 2019, the proposed work programs and budget for the year 2020 were reviewed. The company’s various projects and the goals that it intends to achieve during the next year to increase oil and gas production rates were presented. The exploration activity in completing drilling for a number of wells and preparing laboratory experiments, seismic surveys and reprocessing programs, developing the reserve represented in carrying out some reservoir and laboratory studies, undertaking developmental drilling operations for a number of wells, completing some wells in Alfarig field during the past year were discussed. The results of the 6P2-59 exploration well test were presented in Sirte Basin as well as the study of development of North Gallo field and development Hilo 3.
Environmental protection projects including reducing associated water, exploiting the produced gas, reducing burning and oil spills were also discussed. The monitoring committee report was also reviewed.
NOC Chairman and members of the Board of Directors praised the exceptional efforts made by the employees of Waha Oil Company in order to increase the performance of the company and contribute to the advancement of the national economy, despite the circumstances, challenges and difficulties faced, which did not prevent the company from playing its role so that through its wise management efforts and its workers, it was able to maintain production rates and manage its operations in a professional and neutral manner.
The Chairman congratulated the company on the occasion of the inauguration and beginning of the second phase of Alfarig field development project during this year, which aims to reach production rates in it to about 180 million cubic feet of gas per day, as well as maintenance of the crude oil line 18 inches.
The chairman stressed the need to speed up completion of a number of important projects that will contribute in maintaining production operations such as replacing transmission lines, replacing damaged crude oil tanks in Sidra oil port, and speeding up the development of strategic fields on production such as North Gallo fields and “MN 98” according to the plans approved by NOC and stressed the intention of coordinating with the competent authorities in the country in order to adopt the rapid development of these huge fields due to the great return on investment and the expected increase in incompe quickly.
He also praised the company’s role in conducting reservoir studies by Libyan engineers and called for coordination with the General Administration of Security, Safety and Sustainable Development in the implementation of spatial development programs in the oil areas, environmental sanitation programs.
He also stressed that the human element should be given priority and attention for training and qualification, while improving public services for workers and provide them with comfort and entertainment.
Chairman of Waha Oil Company praised the continuous support of NOC to Waha Oil Company in overcoming the difficulties and problems that it was exposed to, highlighting the most important actions undertaken by the company during the past period, including the speed of response in addressing food contamination in an oil field in Gallo region.
