General Electric International company for US Gas and Energy Systems has signed a Memorandum of Understanding with the Government of National Accord (GNA), for implementing new production capacities in the field of electric power, and raising the efficiency of the existing stations in Libya.
The agreement signed Wednesday, in New York under the auspices of the Presidential Council’s head, Fayez Al-Sarraj, covered the establishment of renewable energy projects, including wind and solar power to generate electricity, in addition to energy transfer and discharge projects.
The memorandum proposed a program of work, in line with the first five-year plan in the field of electric power in Libya, which aims to increase capacity by about six thousand megawatts.
