The UN envoy to Libya, Ghassan Salame, arrived in Benghazi on Wednesday morning from Misurata to meet with a wide range of representatives of the city and to hear their views on the UN’s  plan of action in Libya and how to implement it.

Salame put forward a new plan of action in Libya last September before the high-level international meeting held at the UN headquarters in New York.

While in Benghazi, Salame inaugurated two primary schools in the city as part of the UN Education Program. UNICEF is repairing “over 30 schools in Benghazi, Sirt, Sabha and Ubari, enabling approximately 30 thousand children to access safe and conducive education.”, according to United Nations Support Mission in Libya Facebook page.
