Tripoli Fair Hosts Italian Industry Exhibition.

The exhibition of the agents of Italian Industries was inaugurated in Tripoli on Monday with the participation of 35 Italian companies.

The three-day event is being organized by the Libyan Italian Chamber of Commerce and sponsored by Misrata Free Zone.

Minister Muhammad Al-Hawij of Economy and Trade, President of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry in Libya, Chairman of the Exhibition Authority, and the Director of the Italian Commercial Office in Libya attended the opening ceremony on the grounds of the Tripoli International Fair.

Minister Al-Huwaij praised the organizer’s efforts hoping it would promote commercial ties between domestic and international companies.

He said they aim to further develop the private sector and localize industry with the support of international partners, noting that Italy is Libya’s top trading partner with a trade exchange worth nearly $15 billion.

Al-Hawaij called on the Libyan stakeholders to consider localizing industries, which require long-term partnerships and focus on vital sectors such as industry, agriculture, and services.

The exhibition also featured a workshop titled (A future view of the localization of the industry), which provided an opportunity for exchanging commercial knowledge and discussing related policies, procedures, and regulations.
