The Presidency Council’s government of national accord has warned unregulated academic institutions to quickly obtain accreditation or face their students’ results being voided.

Since the revolution, a number of private higher education establishments, including some at university level, have been set up. The education ministry said some of these had failed get their books in order in time for the next semester in 2017. As such, the ministry said any exams or coursework undertaken by them would not be officially approved.

The news came as the financial department at the education ministry announced it had started to distribute funds and some resources to municipalities for use by schools and universities in their districts.
