The Central Bank of Libya (CBL) has stated that total public spending in Libya since the beginning of the current year 2024 amounted to about 43.7 billion dinars.

The CBL explained in a statement on Thursday that the first chapter on salaries reached 25.7 billion dinars.

The rest of the expenses were distributed under the second chapter on administrative expenses, amounting to three billion dinars. Chapter Four on support accounted for 7.8 billion, the financial arrangements for the National Oil Corporation accounted for 4.7 billion, and the financial arrangements for the General Electricity Company accounted for 2.5 billion.

As for the allocations for Chapter Three on development and Chapter Five on emergencies, they amounted to zero, according to the CBL statement.
