On the morning of Tuesday, October 13, 2020, the technical meeting of the Zawiya Oil Refining Company was held at the headquarters of the National Oil Corporation (Al-Sarir Hall) in Tripoli, and connected via closed circuits from the company’s headquarters in Zawia, in the presence of the Director General of Industries of the National Oil Corporation, Mr. Khaled Gueili, The Chairman of the Management Committee of Al-Zawia Company, Mr. Sadiq Muhammad, and a member of the Management Committee for Engineering and Projects, Mr. Mustafa Khalifa.
During the meeting, the company’s various activities, financial and technical items were discussed, as well as the preventive measures against the (Covid 19) virus that the company had applied in all its sites.
The attendees also discussed in detail several issues, most notably the current situation of the refinery and the extent of its readiness and the associated units, to restart it and resume production operations, after lifting the status of force majeure from the El Sharara field.
The maintenance plans programmed by the company’s specialists for the industrial units to resume operations were also discussed, in addition to the ongoing equipment at the Zawia asphalt plant, the production operations of the Benghazi Asphalt plant, the oil mixing and packaging plant, and also the rolling, ongoing and proposed capital projects for the year 2021 were discussed.
The meeting was attended by a number of directors of departments, engineers, technicians and specialists at the National Oil Corporation and the Zawiya Oil Refining Company.
