On Monday, March 21, 2022, the Chairman of the Board of Directors, Mr. Mustafa Sanalla, received at the headquarters of the National Oil Corporation (NOC), his Excellency the European Union Ambassador to Libya Jose Antonio and his delegation.
During the meeting, the current situation in the oil sector, namely the lack of funding and the lack of budgets for the National Oil Corporation, was discussed to enable it to conduct the sector’s work and carry out the necessary maintenance work for the tanks and infrastructure that were damaged in the past wars, as well as to meet its contractual obligations to its partners.
Ambassador José appreciated the great efforts of the National Oil Corporation to maintain the continuity and sustainability of the production process despite the difficult circumstances that the NOC faces, which have always been the main tributary and backbone of the Libyan state’s economy, also he stressed the EU mission’s full support for the NOC and its technical and non-political role.
