Minister of Planning of Presidential Council, Tahir Jahaimi, signed Thursday a $ 5 million contribution to Libya Stabilization Fund.

The Deputy Special Representative and Deputy Head of the United Nations Support Mission in Libya, María Ribeiro, said that the contribution is a clear message that the Stabilization Fund is owned by the Libyan state.

“The contribution will provide a tangible benefit for Libyans living in difficult circumstances,” Ribeiro explained, pointing out that the United Nations is looking forward to encouraging the Libyan government and other partners to continue their contributions to the Stabilization Fund.

The Stabilization Fund of Libya was formed in 2016. It is managed by the Ministry of Planning in cooperation with the United Nations Support Mission in Libya.
