President of the Presidential Council of the National Government of Accord me at Tripoli Council headquarters the President of the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) and his accompanying delegation in the presence of the Libyan Red Crescent branch in Tripoli.
The president welcomed the delegation pointing out that the organization has a great deal of experience in dealing with conflict areas in the world, stressing Libya’s aspiration to take advantage of the possibilities and expertise of this organization in dealing with the situation in Libya, especially providing assistance to the displaced.
The President called for intensified cooperation with the Red Crescent Society, Ministry of Health and Social Affairs and stressed the importance of establishing an appropriate mechanism for cooperation.
President of ICRC expressed his pleasure to visit Libya for discussing the prospects of cooperation between the two sides and stated that ICRC is ready to cooperate with Libyan partners in various fields, including assistance in dealing with the situation of illegal immigrants.
