President of High Council of State receives French Ambassador to Libya

The President of the High Council of State (HCS), Khaled Al-Mishri, confirmed on Thursday during a meeting with the French Ambassador to Libya, Brigitte Curmi, that he will work during the coming period to break the political deadlock and deal directly with the Speaker of the House of Representatives, pointing out that the HCS will proceed in the direction of the elections in case of the constitutional referendum.

Al-Mishri stated that he will also discuss with members of the HoR points related to sovereign positions and the reshuffle of the Presidential Council and the constitution file.

For her part, Curmi stressed that her country only recognizes the Presidential Council and state institutions that originated from the Libyan Political Agreement.
