On Monday, 18 May 2020, NOC Chairman met the Chairman and members of the new and previous management committees of Zawia Oil Refining Company, after the completion of the handover and receipt ceremonies between the two management committees at NOC headquarters in Tripoli.
NOC Chairman praised the great efforts made by the previous management committee towards success and made it clear that the restructuring of the management committees in the sector companies is a measure required by the stage by pumping new blood and young national elements to ensure the continuity of the oil sector in the required format and pointed that the oil sector in Libya is distinguished from the rest of the other sectors by the fact that it works in the spirit of one team, as one family, and despite the extremely difficult circumstances that our dear country is going through, the oil sector workers have proven to everyone that they protect the nation’s economy, and they carry out their duties very diligently.
He added that Zawia Oil Refining Company is a giant company with rich national expertise and high technical ability which will enable it to achieve its goals.
Chairman of the New Management Committee and his colleagues, members of the Management Committee expressed their appreciation and thanks to NOC Board of Directors for their confidence and their choice to lead Zawia Oil Refining Company in this exceptional stage and the difficult economic conditions the country is going through.
In conclusion, NOC Chairman made it clear that a plan must be developed to develop the infrastructure and find solutions to the company’s electrical energy problems and restart the oil mixing plant, to achieve the profits required for the company, as well as to reform and develop automatic control systems, taking into account the rationalization of drainage and safety of operations until the financial conditions improve with an emphasis on maintaining a close relationship with the sector companies, particularly with Brega Oil Marketing Company.
