The chairman of the National Oil Corporation Mustafa Sanallah said fuel smuggling is making Libya lose 750 million dollars a year.

Sanallah presented the Oil and Fuel Theft conference in Geneva with an initiative to fight fuel smuggling in Libya and urged the international community to sanction the smugglers and seize their assets.

He also called for the mandate of the EU’s naval mission, Operation Sophia, to be extended.

Public Prosecutor’s Office in Tripoli issued last February 114 arrest warrants of fuel smugglers.
