The National Oil Corporation (NOC) has announced the start of operations at the first methanol plant of the Sirte Oil and Gas Production and Manufacturing Company, after its operation had been halted for years.

NOC explained on its Facebook page that the factory’s production rate reached 600 metric tons per day, which constitutes 60% of the factory’s production capacity.

Sirte Company announced on Wednesday the operation of the first methanol plant by lighting the first combustion flame, marking the start of operation and the plant entering the production stage.
