The National Oil Corporation (NOC) has announced the resumption of oil exports from the ports of Sidra and Ras Lanuf following a 24-hour stoppage, after what it called “groups possessing no legal entity” issued misleading media statements that tricked and misled a group of young people to act illegally.

The head of the NOC, Mustafa Sanallah, openly accused certain Libyan officials of planning and participating in the closure of the ports according to their own agenda, saying he would not accept the politicization of the NOC and using it as a bargaining chip by certain politicians and influential entities to attempt to achieve non-national interests and goals, as he put it.

Sanallah added that the holding to account of what he described as “unseen hands” behind these events, is no less relevant, than holding the instigators and perpetrators of these acts accountable, calling for taking of all necessary measures to investigate the facts and bring the perpetrators to justice.
