National Oil Corporation (NOC) in collaboration with international partners made up of Repsol, OMV, Total and Equinor – known as the ‘Repsol Consortium’ – have delivered two surface water pumps to support the Ar Rujban municipality water network. This activity is in accordance with NOC’s ‘good neighbour’ policy and ongoing commitment to support areas and communities adjacent to oil operations.
This activity forms part of NOC’s agreement with the consortium to provide a series of sustainable development projects in areas adjacent to sites operated by Akakus, and is in addition to the recent delivery of submersible pumps in the last few months to support the municipality’s Kalthoum water well operations.
The handover ceremony was attended by Mr Abdul Baset Mohamed Shibani, Ar Rujban Municipal Council member in charge of the water project’s development; Mr Hatem Abdul Nabi, director of the Ar Rujban Water and Sewage Office; Mr Ali Khraidan, interim director of NOC’s Sustainable Development Department; and Ms Haifa Al Ryani, NOC’s Sustainable Development implementation supervisor.
