Next Generation Network Project – (NGN)

 

The program is aiming to provide a modern telecom  infrastructure that supports high data speed across the country. Furthermore, the project supports the development of digital transmission media at high quality through fiber optics using IP protocols. NGN program  was designed to be connected with 7 international terminals/gateways (2 with Europe, 3 with Arabic countries & 2 gateways to Africa).

The program is split into a number of projects according to adopted technology and region targeted. Projects are :

  • NGBN
  • DWDM
  • IP/MPLS
  • NGSN
  • NGAN

LPTIC as an owner of this project is directly supervising the execution of NGBN project (Cable Project) which already completed the execution of (Phase One) of total length 14000 Km amounted EUR.169 Million. (Phase two) execution has commenced in 2010 with total length 9000 Km amounted EUR.117 Million, 23% of phase two work has been completed. Other projects regarding NGN equipments supervised by subsidiaries according to each company functionality.
