Misrata Municipality signs agreement with Germany’s GIZ Corporation

The Misrata Municipality has signed a cooperation agreement with German Corporation for International Cooperation (GIZ) in the field of capacity building and sustainable development.

A women’s training center will be prepared, which will include a sewing workshop, in addition to a training hall for other craftsmanship of interest to women, under the agreement.

The agreement was signed by Hamida Al-Mangoush, a member of the Misrata Municipal Council, and a representative of GIZ.

The GIZ, is a German development agency, headquartered in Bonn and Eschborn, provides services in the areas of international development cooperation, including management consulting, rural development, sustainable infrastructure, security and peace-building, social development, governance and democracy, environment and climate change, economic development and employment.

The Corporation has been mandated by the Ministry of Local Government of the Government of National Accord to assist municipalities in preparing sustainable development plans and long-term programs.
