The director of Misrata International Airport, Adel Qozait, has confirmed that flights will resume from the airport on January 01.
In an official letter, Qozait ordered the airport’s relevant departments to initiate the necessary administrative procedures to restore air traffic to and from the airport.
Air traffic was suspended at Misrata International Airport last August due to a fire at the airport’s passenger terminal.
Last Wednesday, the Airports Authority convened a meeting with its respective committees to review the proposal submitted by the Turkish Al-Bairaq Company, regarding conducting construction work for Misrata International Airport, where the committees handed over their final report on the deal to the Airports Authority in order to take the necessary procedures.
