Undersecretary of the Ministry of Transport, Hisham Abu Shkewat has said that the reopening of Mitiga Airport will be announced formally on Tuesday, with the resumption of air traffic within a week.

“A joint press conference will be held Tuesday with the Interior Ministry and the United Nations mission in Libya to announce the resumption of flights at Mitiga airport,” the ministry explained.

The Civil Aviation Authority suspended in early September the air traffic at Mitiga airport and transferred all flights to Misurata International Airport after being repeatedly targeted by Haftar’s forces.
