The Minister of Economy and Trade, Mohammed Al-Hawij has confirmed that the ministry is seeking to achieve economic development in the city of Ghadames by inviting the local and foreign private sectors to start implementing a number of investment projects.
This came during his meeting on Wednesday, with the Mayor of Ghadames Municipality, Qasim Al-Mani, at the Ministry’s HQ in the capital, Tripoli.
The meeting came within the framework of the Ministry’s follow-up of the economic controls in the municipalities, reviewing a number of economic issues and identifying development projects in the city.
The two sides also discussed ways to activate the economic monitoring in the municipality of Ghadames, and the possibility of maintaining and developing Ghadames Airport, in addition to implementing the “Al-Sayyar” road linking the cities of Ghadames and Daraj in coordination with the relevant authorities.
