Minister of Economy discusses ways to address problems facing private sector companies

The Minister of Economy and Trade, Mohammed Al-Hawij discussed on Tuesday with a number of businessmen and private sector companies affiliated with the Chambers of Commerce, the obstacles facing the private sector, and ways to address them.

During the meeting, which was attended by the director of the Private Sector Development and Investment Department at the ministry and the legal advisor to the minister, a number of proposals aimed at overcoming the obstacles were reviewed, in addition to supporting the chambers of commerce in the regions and activating their role in developing the national economy and resettling industries.

Al-Hawaij stressed the importance of the role of the chambers of commerce, industry and agriculture in the regions, in stimulating investment with the foreign partner, and supporting small and medium enterprises, especially those that depend on local raw materials, which contribute to raising the domestic product.

He also affirmed that the ministry has begun setting standards for organizing chambers of commerce, in a way that contributes to raising the level of their performance and accomplishing their tasks as required.
