The Head of the Libyan Presidential Council, Mohammed Menfi, arrived in Greece and held talks with the Greek President Katerina Sakellaropoulou, reiterating the need to activate joint cooperation mechanism in electricity and renewable energy sectors.

Menfi and the Greek President discussed bilateral relations and talked about the issues of joint interest as Menfi hailed the reopening of the Greek embassy in Tripoli and consulate in Benghazi.

He also expressed keenness on establishing economic, educational, cultural and security partnerships with Greece, saying there is now an opportunity in the presence of the Government of National Unity to boost bilateral relations.

Menfi arrived in Athens on Tuesday upon a formal invitation from the Greek President. Meanwhile, the Greek Prime Minister reiterated last week, in a meeting with Menfi in Tripoli, keenness on boosting diplomatic relations with Libya, opening air space between the two countries and increasing diplomatic presence in Libya.
