Mellitah Oil and Gas Company plans to raise the daily production rates in the Abu Tifl oil field to 1500 barrels per day, chairman of the management committee at Mellitah, Mohamed Bin Shatwan, said on Monday.
Bin Shatwan said the ability to increase the field’s production is a result of joint efforts of specialists from the production department, the reservoir management, the drilling, and the well maintenance service department.
Many works have been going on recently, including installing the waterproofing system, removing wax, sediment, and sludge. All this facilitated the flow of crude oil, according to Bin Shatwan.
Abu Tifl oil field, located 60 kilometers from Jalu, is a joint venture between the National Oil Corporation and the Italian “Eni” company with a productive capacity of 80 thousand barrels per day.
