The National Oil Corporation announced on Sunday that the technical teams of the Nafusa Oil Operations Company began operating the main oil pipeline for the North Hamada field, which will transport the field’s production to the port of Mellitah via El Feel field.

The NOC explained on Facebook that it began pumping 2,000 barrels per day into the pipeline gradually until reaching 25,000 barrels per day, after which pumping began towards the Mellitah complex, following the opening of the connection valve with El Feel pipeline at a rate of 4,500 barrels per day.

It confirmed that the quantities of pumped oil will increase by installing production wells successively to reach 10,000 barrels per day in September 2024, noting that this is the first phase program for developing the field.

The NOC indicated that the length of the new oil line is 50 km, with a diameter of 12 inches, and with a design capacity of 70,000 barrels per day, saying it is equipped with a leak detection system, and that a fiber optic cable was extended along the pipeline for tracking information. It said he connection point with El Feel field was equipped with a surveillance system.
