Libya’s Oil Minister encourages shift to clean energy.

The Libyan Minister of Oil and Gas, Mohammed Oun, said the ministry encourages shifting to clean energy like hydrogen and all renewable energies, adding that they are upgrading and setting up oil refineries.

The remarks came at an event for the Arab EuroMid for economic cooperation on Tuesday, according to the Oil Ministry.

Oun gave a brief overview of the oil sector in Libya and the investment opportunities, hailing the German oil and gas firms’ expertise in the sector and in infrastructure.

The event saw discussions on the needs of the private sector to help assist oil and gas operations and opportunities of cooperation with German companies and encouraging the shift to renewable energies.
