The Libya-Turkey Investment and Development Conference kicked off in Istanbul on Saturday morning in the presence of representatives from the Libyan and Turkish governments.
The conference was attended by Presidential Council Foreign Minister, Mohamed Sayala, Planning Minister, Tahir Jahimi, Turkish Economy Minister, Nihat Zeybekci.
It was dedicated to the return of Turkish companies and the resumption of economic cooperation between the two countries.
The two sides also agreed to form joint committees to discuss outstanding issues and facilitate the completion of projects stalled in Libya.
For his part, Minister of Planning, Tahir Juhaimi, affirmed that the atmosphere is now more conducive to investment, both in terms of the security situation and the stabilizing factors in the oil sector in Libya.
Turkish Economy Minister, Nihat Zeybekci, said that his country’s officials will work closely with their Libyan counterparts to finalize the projects executed by the Turkish companies and to discuss implementing new ones.
