Foreign Minister of Presidential Council, Mohamed Siyala, confirmed that the return of Russian companies to Libya is near.
According to a statement issued by the Foreign Ministry on Friday, the confirmation came after his meeting with the Russian Security Council Secretary Nikolai Patrushev, in which the two sides discussed the reopening of the Russian embassy in Tripoli.
The statement said that the meeting dealt with the political situation in Libya, ways of developing cooperation between the two countries, in addition to discussing the development of Russian investments in the country.
Earlier Siyala and his Russian counterpart, Sergei Lavrov, discussed a number of practical aspects regarding bilateral relations between Russia and Libya to restore full trade and economic relations.
