Minister of Agriculture, Livestock and Marine Wealth, Abdelbaset Al-Ghanimi, has held an extensive meeting with FAO Director-General, Qu Dongyu.

The meeting, which took place at FAO HQ, discussed areas of cooperation between Libya and FAO, especially the activation of the agreement signed between the two sides in 2008, worth of $ 71 million.

Al-Ghanimi said the ministry has reached an agreement with the organization to activate three projects, according to the ministry’s Information Office, noting that they had also reviewed promoting cooperation in the field of resistance to veterinary diseases and agricultural pests.

Libya signed an agreement with FAO in 2008 before it was frozen in 2011 following the uprising against Muammar Gaddafi.
