A report by the World Gold Council said Libya is still fourth on Arab countries in gold reserves that are worth 116.6 tons as of December 2021.
The report ranked Saudi Arabia as number one with 323.1 tons, then Lebanon in second with 268 tons, Algeria third with 173 tons and Iraq fifth with 96 tons.
Auditing review of US firm Deloitte of the Central Bank of Libya confirmed that the bank was committed to the gold coverage for printing local currency in the last years.
