The Prime Minister of the Government of National Accord (GNA) Fayez Al-Serraj has disclosed that there has been agreement with the Libyan National Elections Commission to organize the parliamentary and presidential elections early in 2018.

Al-Serraj said, in a meeting with the US Secretary of State Rex Tillerson Friday, that Libya will also hold a referendum on the constitution in 2018.

Both Al-Serraj and Tillerson agreed on that fact that the UN-led action plan and political process are the only way out of the current political stalemate in the country, the media office of the GNA reported on Facebook.

“There is no place for the military solutions in Libya.” The US Secretary of State told Al-Serraj.

Al-Serraj arrived in Washington Thursday and met with the US Secretary of Defense Jim Mattis then on Friday he met with the US President and the Secretary of State.
