The Kufra Airport received on Friday the first civilian aircraft after a hiatus of years.
The first flight from Mitiga International Airport in Tripoli, which belongs to Universal Airlines, landed on the airport runway Friday afternoon.
Meanwhile, Libyan Airlines announced Thursday plans to resume the route between Benghazi and Kufra, indicating that it will schedule flights once a week starting from Monday.
Recently the Kufra Airport stopped receiving commercial flights and confined its operations to receiving planes carrying cash to the city’s banks while parts of the airport were under maintenance.
