Chairman of the Karanfil Group Morteza Karanfil is urging Turkish investors to play a more active role in Libya.
A statement issued by the group on Friday quoted Karanfil as saying he is confident in Libya’s potential.
“The measures taken by the Government of National Unity were widely welcomed by the public and had a positive impact on the economy,” Karanfil said.
He called on entrepreneurs in Turkey and countries in the region to make more investments in Libya, emphasizing the need to improve the impression formed towards the Northan African country, which he said is open to trade cooperation in all fields.
“The only income Libya currently has is oil, and therefore its sources of income must be diversified,” Karanfil said, who expected a promising future for Libya as its considered Africa’s gateway to the world, as he put it.
He also highlighted the Turkish Libyan relationship, saying it is entering a very active phase.
It may be worth noting that the Karanfil Group is currently implementing several projects through its subsidiaries in Tripoli, Benghazi, Misrata, Al Bayda, Zliten, Tobruk, and Zawiya.
