Invitation to participate and attend the first forum for the rights of people with visual disabilities in Libya

Place: Benghazi City

Duration 3 days during 19-21.02.2018.

First: the problem of the forum

What is the reality of people with visual disabilities in Libya regarding recognition of their rights and what is hoped?

Second: The objectives of the forum

Exploring the reality of the rights of visually impaired people in Libya.
Evaluate the reality of the rights of people with visual disabilities and what the Libyan State has provided in this regard.
To draw the attention of researchers and experts in the field of legal sciences to the rights of visually impaired people.
To highlight the role of people with visual disabilities in development and construction and their ability to provide.
Benefit from the experiences of some Arab countries in the field of the rights of people with visual disabilities.
Third: The themes of the forum.

It is based on the rights that the organization is concerned with defining, disseminating and defending, as follows:

General education and educational integration, university education and graduate studies.
People with visual disabilities and their right in culture.
The right of empowerment and labor market.
Ophthalmology and visual health (right of prevention and treatment).
Right to rehabilitation and social integration.
The right to facilitate the principle of safe access.
Use modern technologies to improve the quality of life of people with visual disabilities.
The right of the blind to sports and recreation in Libya.
The right to appreciate visual disabilities in society and the media in Libya.
Local legislation, conventions and international treaties dealing with the rights of visually impaired people.
Experiences of civil society organizations in Libya in this field.
Fourth: Researchers will be selected among the specialists and expertise in the field.

Fifth: Targets:

Those concerned with visual disabilities and their rights.
Those responsible for rehabilitation of people with visual disabilities in the state institutions and the civil institutions concerned.
Sixth: Conditions of participation:

The paper should be connected to one of the forum’s topics.
The number of pages of the paper does not exceed 20 pages.
Individual and joint papers are accepted.
The paper shall be accompanied by an abstract in Arabic and a short CV.
5 The time for the paper should not be more than 15 minutes and the intervention 5 minutes.

Papers and interventions shall be evaluated and the interventions which have not been submitted by the author shall not be programmed.
The author of the paper may assign a person on his behalf.

The interventions can be audio or video and can be sent via conventional means of communication.
Seventh: nature and mechanism of operation.

The program of the forum will take place in the form of dialogue sessions in the morning and evening. The speaker will discuss each issue as it was and what should be in the future, considering the local laws, regulations, local decisions and regional, Arab and international agreements.

At the end of the meetings, recommendations are formulated.
