High-ranking meeting aims to speed up unification of Libya’ Central Bank.

The Central Bank of Libya said its governor Al-Siddiq Al-Kabir, met with the Prime Minister, Abdul-Hamid Dbeibah, Head of the High Council of State, Khalid Al-Mishri, and First Deputy Speaker, Fawzi Al-Nuwairi, in Tripoli to follow up on the latest efforts to unify the central bank.

The Central Bank of Libya indicated in a statement Sunday that the meeting was to reiterate support for the unification of the central bank and follow up on financial and economic conditions in the country.

The Central Bank of Libya announced on January 20 the start of the unification process in a meeting for Al-Kabir with his deputy Ali Al-Hibri, saying the process would take four stages that lead to a modern operating system that is in line with world standards.
