A high-ranking security delegation from the Committee of Intelligence and Security Services of Africa (CISSA) arrived in Libya’s capital, Tripoli, on Sunday morning, reported the media bureau of the Libyan Foreign Ministry.
The media bureau said the CISSA delegation will conduct a number of visits inside Libya on its six-day long stay in the country.
“The main objective of the visits will be checking on the migrants’ detention centers to see their needs and their conditions.” The bureau added.
The CISSA experts will be discussing the possible solutions that could limit the influx of illegal immigrants into Libya, let alone issues of smuggling, inter-border organized crimes and human trafficking, the media bureau explained.
Libya has been the number one favorite destination for African and Sub-Saharan nationals since 2012 in order to reach Europe.
