The CEO of the Italian energy company, ENI, Claudio Descalzi, considered that the signing of the oil and gas exploration agreement with the Libyan National Oil Corporation is the most important agreement during the last 20 years in terms of oil discoveries between the two countries.
In a speech during the signing ceremony of the agreement in Tripoli, ENI’s president said that this new agreement with Libya will provide nearly a third of the energy requirements at a value of 8 billion Euros.
He stressed that this agreement will meet many energy needs, and will cover a third of what is related to Italy’s export.
Also Descalzi indicated that the agreement will include professional aspects related to the exchange of experiences and training, especially for Italian companies that will come to work in Libya, in addition to opening the door to other investments in Libya to double energy production.
