The General Electricity Company of Libya (GECOL) has announced that the first turbine of Al-khums emergency power station has been connected to the public grid, one month after the failure of the first operational trial.

GECOL stated on its official Facebook page that the turbine’s capacity has reached 70 MW and it is about to load 250 MW.

The company also announced that its engineers at Al-Sawani Distribution Department had maintained and operated the Al-Abani station on the Airport Road instead of the ground power station, which was burned as part of the damage caused to the areas south of Tripoli.
