The General Electricity Company of Libya (GECOL) announced on Sunday the theft of 4,700 meters of electricity wires in the Al-Murgub area near khoms city.

The company added in a statement that the theft had led to the disconnection of power supply to 24 transformers.

It also complained about the frequent theft targeting the electricity components, which led to frequent power outages in several areas, demanding the security services to take appropriate measures to prevent the theft of wires.
