The Head of the Presidential Council Fayez Al-Sirraj laid the foundation stone of the water desalination station project in Zelten district while he was on a field visit last Thursday to Al-Jamil, Mansheya, Regdaline, and Zelen districts in the far west of Libya.

Zelten municipality spokesman Saleh Sharada said Saturday that the desalination station will provide drinkable water to Zelten and nearby towns, adding that it could provide about 4 million liters of water a day.

Sharada added that Zelten has been suffering from water shortages for over 50 years and none of the previous governments have ever offered radical solutions. He added that the work in the station started and will end in 10 months.
