The Governor of the Central Bank of Libya (CBL), Saddek Elkaber, has met with the President of the African Import-Export Bank (AFREXIMBANK), Benedict Oramah, to discuss Libya’s membership in the bank and its contribution.
According to a statement by the CBL on Tuesday, the parties met last Friday in Washington as part of the bank’s vision to expand its dealings with African financial institutions.
They discussed the bank’s objectives, promoting exports among African countries and launching a system for financial settlements across the continent.
Elkaber began his visit to Washington on April 9th, during which he held a series of meetings with officials from the International Monetary Fund, the World Bank, the American-Libyan Business Association, and others.
In his meetings, he addressed investment opportunities in Libya in energy, infrastructure, telecommunications, healthcare, education, services, oil, gas, and renewable energies sectors.
