The Prime Minister of the Government of National Unity (GNU), Abdel Hamed Dbeibah said that Libya possesses tremendous wealth, a relatively small population, along with a limited GDP, adding that Libya’s oil reserves are estimated at 40 billion barrels.

Dbeibah added, in a speech at the Ambrosetti Forum in Italy, that Libya had lost enormous resources during the war, calling on the international community to assist in rebuilding the resources of the country, stressing the need to resolve structural imbalances which occurred due to events of the past decades to allow the country to move forward.

He also pointed out that Libya remains in a difficult situation as a result of interruption of oil production for several years, although the resources are necessary, adding that Italy is doing a great job in Libya, struggling alongside it to solve the problem of illegal migrants, according to the Italian Nova agency.
