Chinese companies have expressed their willingness to contribute to infrastructure and industrial projects and investment in Libya, and to benefit from the opportunities that Libya has geographically, regionally and economically.
This came during two meetings between the Minister of Economy and Trade Mohammed Al-Huweij with representatives of those companies, in the presence of the Head of the General Federation of Chambers of Commerce, Industry, and Agriculture, Mohammed Al-Raied, and the Chairman of the Business Owners Council, Rashid Sawan, according to the ministry’s statement.
The two meetings discussed the possibility of cooperation between the two parties in the fields of trade and investments, especially in the industrial, contracting and infrastructure sectors. The two sides also discussed ways to consolidate economic and investment relations between Libya and China through signing joint agreements and memoranda of understanding in areas of joint interest.
The meetings ended with an agreement on the necessity of coordination between the Libyan and Chinese sides to conclude bilateral cooperation agreements to open horizons of cooperation between the Libyan and Chinese private sectors in a way that achieves joint economic interests.
