Chairman Of the Board Of Directors receives the UN envoy to Libya Ján Kubiš

On Saturday, February 20, 2021, at the headquarters of the National Oil Corporation )NOC( in the Libyan capital Tripoli, the chairman of the board of Directors Eng.Mustafa Sanalla has received The United Nations Special Envoy to Libya, Ján Kubiš, and his delegation.
At the beginning of the meeting, the Chairman Mustafa Sanalla welcomed the UN envoy for his first visit to Libya and to the NOC, while praising the support provided by the UN mission to Libya over the past years, particularly its strong and sustained support for the Libyan oil sector.
Eng. Sanalla gave a brief about the NOC and its companies, and the vital role it plays in the management of the oil industry in Libya, and the services it provides to the Libyan citizen in all Libyan territory without any discrimination, from the provision of fuel for all regions, and the gas on which the power plants depend on it mainly, despite the difficult political and security conditions that the country has gone through, pointing out that the NOC dealt with everyone with complete neutrality, explaining that the NOC has always dealt with all professionally and impartially and away from any political and continuing conflicts in the performance of its tasks through technocrats and technicians, and its only concern is to maintain the flow of oil and continue production processes, and secure income and financial resources to support the national economy, while wishing at the same time best of luck to the new envoy to Libya Mr. Ján Kubiš and his team in his new mission to achieve the mission’s objectives to restore stability to it as soon as possible.
For his part, Mr. Ján Kubiš expressed his happiness with this visit, stressing the continued support of the Un-Mission for the efforts of the NOC to support libya’s economy, secure and bring financial resources to revive its economy, and praised its success over the past years in pursuing the principle of transparency, which strengthened its position domestically and internationally as a neutral technocratic institution working fully professionally to serve all Libyans and preserve the wealth of future generations.
Mr. Kubiš stressed the importance of maintaining the independent and neutral role of the NOC as the sole sovereign institution that is charged with the stewardship of the country’s oil management. They both agreed on the need to ensure transparent and equitable management of oil revenues.
