The ‘‘Prime Minister’’ of the internationally unrecognized eastern-based Libyan Government, Abdulla Thinni, yesterday, instructed work on developing Benghazi Port to be a central hub port linking the continents of Africa and Europe, eastern-based state LANA news agency reported yesterday.

During a meeting held in Thinni’s Benghazi office, he discussed with the President of the Public Authority for Transport and Transport, Captain Mohamed Ali Abdel Gader, the possibility of preparing a plan to develop the port to ensure that it accommodates the largest number of ships and carriers.

The meeting also discussed job opportunities for citizens and the generation of revenue for the state treasury.

Thinni was briefed on the Libyan Ports Company’s plan aimed at establishing pivotal projects that would allow entry of ships with large draft, to help raise the level of services at the port.
