His Excellency held a meeting with the Prime Minister, in which they exchanged congratulations on the occasion of Eid al-Fitr, and discussed a number of important issues, on top of which was doing whatsoever possible to contribute to supporting the National Oil Corporation (NOC) and its subsidiaries.
In this regard, His Excellency the Prime Minister commented, “The National Oil Corporation is an essential element for the development of the country, calling on the Ministry of Oil and Gas to take steps to overcome all the difficulties that the oil sector suffers from with government departments, mainly the Ministries of Finance and Planning.” His Excellency the Prime Minister added, “We cannot achieve our development plans if we do not guarantee the development of the oil sector.”
His Excellency added, “We need intensive efforts and we appreciate the high spirit of solidarity that must be raised and that the relationship between the Ministry of Oil and Gas and the National Oil Corporation is a complementary relationship that pushes them to achieve the goals of the state in the oil sector represented in the development of the oil industry. There is no fair-minded person denies the steadfastness of the National Oil Corporation in the face of the difficulties and ordeals that the country has suffered over the past decade ”
In this regard, the Undersecretary of the Ministry of Oil and Gas said, “The Ministry of Oil and Gas is keen to achieve the government’s vision and that the oil sector has the values which enable it to join hands and cooperate in order to achieve the government’s goals in developing the national oil sector.”
Al-Abbar added, “The Ministry of Oil and Gas is committed to exerting the necessary care to support NOC’s plans to increase production capacity, reform infrastructure, build national capabilities and qualify them to keep pace with development in the oil industry.”
In a related context, Al-Abbar added, “Mr. Mustafa Sanalla, Chairman of the Board of Directors of the National Oil Corporation, has briefed me on projects with high expectations that add real value to the national economy and the National Oil Corporation is counting on the government’s support in bringing foreign investments to develop the oil and petrochemical industries, as NOC has gone through exceptional circumstances that require extraordinary measures.”
At the end of the meeting, it was agreed to arrange a meeting in which the National Oil Corporation would present an integrated proposal to the Prime Minister dealing with the opportunities and challenges facing the oil industry in Libya.
