Chairman of the Presidential Council (PC), Fayez Al-Sarraj, has given orders to develop an urgent plan in order to improve the salaries of teachers, within the existing capabilities of the state.
This came during his meeting with representatives of the teachers’ unions in Tripoli and other cities in the western region, where he confirmed his solidarity with their demands, according to the PC Media Office.
The teachers’ unions have held separate meetings with the Chief of the Audit Bureau, the Minister of Education, the Under Secretary of Education, and Under Secretary of Finance to discuss the improvement of their living conditions, and the financial means available to meet these demands.
The teachers’ unions held a protest outside the Presidential Council HQ on Monday demanding a pay rise and health insurance for all teachers and education workers.
