The head of the General Directorate of Coast Security of the Ministry of the Interior, Brigadier Tariq Shanbour, who is also the head of the Libyan-Italian Chamber of Operations to Combat Migration and Smuggling, said that it was agreed to establish a maritime maintenance center in the port of Al-Khums soon.
Shanbour explained that this is what is being done these days in cooperation with the State of Italy and coordination with the European Union. Shanbour and his colleagues said today that they received two boats after the completion of a maintenance operation carried out in the port of Binzart, Tunisia,
Shanbour also added that there is a field visit to the port of Al-Khums sea in the coming days to identify and inspect the place.
The maintenance of boats and marine equipment for management functions is currently underway in Tunisia and Malta.
