Tripoli hosted the Libyan Employment Forum

The Libyan Employment Forum was held in Tripoli on Thursday with the participation of 30 local companies from the private sector.

US Pragma Corporation sponsored the forum which was funded by the European Union in partnership with a number of companies.

Minister of Labor and Rehabilitation, Ali Al-Abed, Minister of Local Government, Badr Al-Din Al-Toumi, attended the forum.

Nearly 200 job vacancies were offered in the forum and 200 interviews were held for more than 385 job seekers.

In his opening speech, the Minister of Labor and Rehabilitation said that the forum aims to employ the largest possible number of job seekers according to vacant positions in private companies, stressing the important role of the private sector as a real partner in supporting the Libyan market and absorbing job seekers.

Al-Abed added that there is a proposal that his ministry is working on with the Prime Minister’s Office related to supporting the private companies so that it provides them with a number of privileges, which akkow them to absorb young job seekers.

Workforce development advisor, Mohammed Bawendi , told the Libyan Cloud News Agency that this forum aims to enhance private sector competitiveness, including strengthening job seekers and at the same time creating a work place for job seekers.
